Hunt in South Africa
Big game
Big game hunting in South Africa involves pursuing large, often iconic wildlife species for sport or trophy collection. This practice is regulated and typically takes place in designated reserves and private game farms. Hunters may target a variety of species, including:
- Cape Buffalo – A formidable creature known for its strength and resilience.
- Lion – The iconic “king of the jungle,” often sought after for its majestic mane.
- White Rhino – A critically endangered species, often hunted under strict regulations.
In South Africa, ethical hunting practices are emphasized, with conservation efforts aimed at sustainable wildlife management and community benefits.
Plains game
Plain game hunting in South Africa features a diverse array of species that thrive in grasslands and savannas. Here are five notable examples:
- Kudu – Renowned for their impressive spiral horns and graceful movements.
- Impala – Agile antelopes that are often found in large herds, known for their leaping ability.
- Zebra – Easily identified by their striking black and white stripes, they are popular for both sport and their unique hides.
- Wildebeest – Also known as gnus, these robust animals are known for their characteristic mane and herd behavior.
- Springbok – A small, swift antelope recognized for its impressive jumping ability and distinctive coloration.

Testimonials
My husband and I enjoy hunting game and in the past 10 years have had the opportunity to visit many game farms around South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
This year in our “hunt” for a place to take our guests from New Zealand for a true African hunting experience, we came across the incredible Skadi Safari in Limpopo. Our guests from New Zealand are keen hunters, and avid bush lovers, and the experience we had with Monique from Skadi Safari was nothing short of PERFECT!
The booking process was seamless…
